« Other Initiatives Center for the Assessment and Evaluation of Student Learning (CAESL) Funded by the National Science Foundation, CRESST is a partner of the Center for the Assessment and Evaluation of Student Learning (CAESL). CAESL is a 5-year project with the goal of improving student learning and understanding in science through improved formative assessment practices. The Center is particularly focused on the design and development of comprehensive assessment systems that serve both accountability and teachers' ongoing classroom assessments. Other partners include the School of Education at Stanford University, the Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Berkeley, the Lawrence Hall of Science (LHS), and WestEd.
